DESCRIPTION

A varieties of Marrows related to Squash or Pumpkin.  It has a elongated cylinder shape.  Has a crisp white flesh and soft edible seeds.  Can be yellow or green skin colour.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Originated in Italy.

BUYING AND STORAGE

Look for nicely shape Zucchini that feels heavy for its size.  Avoid soft spots and shrivelled.  Refrigerate in a plastic bag and will keep up to 5 days.

PREPARATION AND USE

Wash and trim ends, can be peel or not peel.  Cut into slice or dice or leave whole.  Use in soups, casseroles, sauce, stir-fry and quiche.
