Tansy is a type of herb which spreads
and grow to about 1m in height, with roots that are strong and creeps.
The Tansy leaves has a bitter, lemon-camphor fragrance which are deeply
toothed. In winter, Tansy dies to ground level when the roots are
inactive, and in spring it send up new growth.

It native country was Europe until it
was then introduced elsewhere over the centuries. At Easter, Tansy
cakes was served to remind them of the bitter herbs that was eaten at the
Feast of the Passover. During the Middle Ages, Tansy was used as a
insect repellent because of its effectiveness and its aromatic smell.
