DESCRIPTION

Related to Silverbeet and Beetroot.  Rich green leaves with slightly crinkle fine stems.  Texture and flavour are more delicate than Silverbeet.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Originated in Asia or Iran.  it was first recoded by the Chinese in 647 AD and it's often confused as the Silverbeet.

BUYING AND STORAGE

Select clean fresh leaves with no signs of blemishes or limpidness.  Avoid sogginess leaves.  Wrap in paper towels and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

PREPARATION AND USE

Remove roots and stalks.  Wash leaves and slice.  Can be use in stir-fry, steam, puree or salad.
