DESCRIPTION

A large oval, deep yellow squash.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN

It's a Winter Squash grown in USA by the Indians for many centuries.  The flesh is fork out like spaghetti.  It is becoming more popular as an alternative to pasta spaghetti.

BUYING AND STORAGE

Select smooth firm Spaghetti Squash.  Avoid softness or decay at the stems.  Store in the refrigerator if it has been cut for a short time only or store whole in a cool dark place and will keep up to 2 weeks.

PREPARATION AND USE

Boil, bake or steam whole, cut in half and fork out the flesh with a fork.  Use in pasta dishes.
