 | HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Silverbeet the the oldest type of Beet known to be used as
a vegetable and was originated in Europe around the Mediterranean. It
is misnamed Spinach in Australia.
 | BUYING AND STORAGE
|
Choose crisp, fresh, undamaged leaves with crisp white
stalks. Refrigerate in plastic bag and will keep up to 3 days.
 | PREPARATION AND USE
|
Trim and remove stalks, wash leaves and slice or
chop. Use in stir-fry, puree and pies or quiche.
