The fruit is an oval shape about 5-8cm long. They usually has a red skin when ripe
but some variety could be yellow colour. The skin is covered with soft curly spines or
hairs. The flesh is translucent, cling to a large brown seed and taste similar to grapes.
 | HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Rambutan is related to Lychee and Longan and is originated in Malaysia. Its name
comes from Indonesia meaning hair.

|
Select firm, dry, bright colour fruit with the spines still looking fresh not dry.
Will store up to 10 days in the refrigerator.
 | PREPARATION AND USE
|
Cut or peel the skin in half and peeling the skin back, eat fresh in hand. The
fruit can be stoned and used in fruit salad, green salad, or added to Asian dishes eg.
sweet and sour.
