DESCRIPTION

Mint has crinkly, oval, dark leaves or smooth, long, bright green leaves.  Spearmint is the most popular variety.  It has a fragrant mint aroma.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Mint is originated in the Mediterranean which has been used since ancient times.  It became a popular room freshener and insect repellent in the early times.

BUYING AND STORAGE

Mint should have a fresh crisp appearance with no signs of wilting.  The stems should be immersed in the water for as long as 1 week and the water should be change every 2 days.

PREPARATION AND USE

Mint can be used whole or chopped in drinks, sauces, meat rolls, ice creams, salads and for food flavouring.
