DESCRIPTION

Mangosteen is a round fruit that has a thick, smooth, leathery purple colour skin. Inside this fruit it has 4-6 segments of delicious, soft, ivory-white flesh which has a layer of a fine pink lining and its contain 1 or 2 brown seeds.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Mangosteen is native to the malay Peninsula, East Indies and the Philippines. The Mangosteen is often referred to as the " Queen of Tropical Fruits".

BUYING AND STORAGE

Select ripe Mangosteen and store in the refrigerator. Eat as soon as possible.

PREPARATION AND USE

Peel fruit and cut into segments and eat them fresh like an orange.
Mangosteen can be use in fruit salad and serve with ice cream.
