Loquat is a small yellow fruit which looks like a small pear and has a
mango-like flavour. Contains a juicy tart-sweet flesh and the flavour is delicate with a
crisp texture.

Native to Asia, belongs to the apple and pear family. The names comes from the
Cantonese language meaning " rush-orange".

Select firm and bright coloured fruit. Ripe loquats has patches of brown spots.
Store in the refrigerator.

Loquats can be peel and eaten fresh. Can be used to make dessert, jams or chinese
jellies - agar, agar.
