DESCRIPTION

Figs comes in oval or pear-shaped. They comes in three varieties - black, white and red, and a range of colours from pale green to dark brown or purple. High in natural sugar that makes them the sweetest fruit of all.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Native fruit of Brazil. It was said to be grown in the Garden of Eden and were used to covered Adam and Eve nakedness. All over the world the leaf was used to covered the naked bodies of ancient arts and statues.

BUYING AND STORAGE

Choose fresh figs, plump ripe and firm. Give a gentle pressure to tell the ripeness. Refrigerate fresh figs in covered container and will keep up to 3 days.

PREPARATION AND USE

Trim stems and peel if desired. Eat fresh or cooked. May be dried, canned and glazed.
