The chives is a small relative of the
onion and garlic family. Onion chives has a round tubular leaves and
can grow up to 40cm when matures with the aroma flavour of an onion.
The Garlic chives has flat plump leaves with blades like a grass and has a
mild garlic aroma flavour.

The Chinese has used chives in about
300BC and there are known in Mediterranean lands before Christian times.
 | BUYING AND STORAGE
|
Select fresh chives in bunches that are
not wilted or dry. Store base of chives in water for use within 4-5
days.

Chives are chopped finely and use as a
garnish, sauces, soups, salads and dips.
