Southern Europe is its native country
but then it spread to England, North America and Asia. The name
'Melissa' from Latin means bee and somehow this herb and the bee has
something in connection. So they took the hives of the bee and rubbed
it with balm to help kept out the bees from swarming. It was believed
to helped the brain, and strengthening the memory. Balm is the short
for 'balsam' as this herb has a sweet aroma.
